Ben Browder

Robert Benedic Browder, better known as Ben Browder (born December 11, 1962) is an American film and television actor, who garnered minor feature film and television roles before accepting a lead role on the sci-fi TV series Farscape and later Stargate SG-1.

Browder returned to the SciFi Channel as he joined the cast of Stargate SG-1 for its 9th season in 2005. He played the character of Lieutenant Colonel Cameron Mitchell, the team's new commanding officer. Browder's former Farscape co-star Claudia Black appeared on SG-1 as well in the 8th season episode entitled "Prometheus Unbound" and again during the first episodes of the 9th season, and then became a regular cast member on the series in its 10th season. Browder preserved some of the character elements of his Farscape persona in his new role (such as making witty pop-culture references), a tip of the hat, perhaps, to Farscape fans who also watched Stargate SG-1, but Cameron Mitchell is a distinct character, an experienced, professional military officer.
